Does your basement smell musty? The odor is caused by the presence of moisture which promotes mold growth. Ground water moisture can slowly seep into the basement through cracks and faults in the basement foundation wall. On our free on site inspection we will determine the source of the moisture and recommend one or more solutions. Our recommendations could include drainage systems for the perimeter wall, windows or doors, automatic sump pump, self emptying dehumidifier and surface sealing coatings. Some of these solutions can be installed from inside the basement but some have to be resolved from outside the basement.
If necessary the basement foundation wall can be excavated exposing the outer surface of the basement foundation. Excavation can include temporarily removing attached equipment or structures such as HVAC systems, building steps and porches to get to the foundation wall.

Once this is done, cracks and faults can be seen. These faults can then be repaired as needed with new grout. We then apply a water proofing sealant to the the wall. Once this coating is cured, it prevents transpiration of water into the basement. Before refilling the excavation, installation of a French drain may be advisable. Finally, we will refill and grade the excavation. Also, other structures that were temporarily removed will be reinstalled or rebuilt as found.
Our experienced project estimator will provide you with the most economical solution for your basement.
